Routine maintenance of the laser machine is an easy matter, but it is very important to ensure the safety and good operation of your machine. Proper maintenance can also extend the service life of the machine and ensure that the laser can operate in its best condition. Thereby reducing the cost of replacing parts and providing you with a longer work time.
When cutting and engraving, make sure to be supervised
Safety is very important, CO2 laser cutting machine is often used to cut wood and acrylic, these materials are very flammable. So when the laser machine is cutting and engraving, be sure to have a staff to look after the machine. Once an unexpected situation occurs during the operation of the machine, you need to turn off the power immediately, which allows you to avoid losses.
Laser lens cleaning
Every day, or after 8 hours of solid laser cutting, be sure to check the lens and clean it if necessary. The top lens and mirror are right above the laser beam which means they are exposed to a lot of dirt, fumes, smoke and debris. If the lens becomes dirty, the cutting speed of the laser machine will decrease, and even the cutting will be uneven or the engraved image will be blurred. If it is not cleaned for a long time, the dirt may permanently damage the lens. Therefore, the cleaning of the lens is very important.
You can keep the lens and mirror clean by removing it and gently cleaning both sides using a q-tip or (better yet) lens paper. Use the fluid that comes with the machine, do not use anything like alcohol or acetone or other cleaner. In the process of wiping the lens, wipe gently, do not damage the surface coating, and take care to prevent the lens from falling. When installing the focus lens, be sure to keep the concave downward.
Cleaning the laser cutting machine fan
When the laser machine cuts and engraves acrylic, MDF and wood, it will inevitably produce smoke, dust and debris. Therefore, periodic maintenance of fan units is essential, because any build-up can impede its function (unless a fume filter is fitted). To do this: disconnect the fan unit from the electrical supply, remove the extraction hoses and clean the impeller fan and ducting through the inlet and exhaust ports of the unit using a soft paint brush. Then it can support the CO2 laser cutting machine well working.
Pay attention to the cooling of the laser tube
If your laser cutting machine uses a water tank for cooling, pay attention to cleaning the water tank regularly. Specific method: first, turn the power off and remove water inlet pipe, let the laser tube of water into the tank automatically, open the water tank, pump and clear the dirt on the water pump. Good clean water tank clean, replace the circulating water, the water pump to restore back into the water tank, the connection pipe inserted into the inlet of the pump, tidy up the joint. The pump power alone, and run 2 to 3 minutes (the laser tube is full of circulating water).
If you are using a chiller to cool the laser tube, you also need to keep a close eye on chiller performance and monitor temperature indication on the chiller display. Every few weeks, locate the filters in the chiller and remove any build-up of material. Use this time to check for water contamination and change if required.
Note: The machine work before must ensure that the laser tube is full of circulating water.
Circulating water quality and water temperature directly affects the service life of the laser tube, it is recommended to use pure water and to control the water temperature below 35 ℃.
Any machine must pay attention to maintenance while in use. The correct maintenance method can not only improve the working efficiency of the laser cutting machine, but also prolong the life of the laser machine, which can be more good to save production costs and win greater benefits.
